CHINCHILLA

Chinchilla - (Working title)

A novel about the friendships that never stop shaping you

The unnamed narrator needs to start making choices that’ll propel her into the adult world, but not yet. Not before this summer which will last a lifetime, not before she meets Kathy at least.

Set during the early 90s and taking place during the early days of rave culture, the novel looks at female friendship and the intensity of some that feel as/more significant than sexual relationships and how you emerge as a human through friendship. The story touches upon dance culture/coming of age/how embedded rape culture is in our lives but is really about the pain and passion of connecting with someone magical.
