Sarah Wishart
I am a film maker, writer, and artist based in Glasgow’s Southside. I am co-director of the Sluice Film Festival alongside Karl England, and chair of the board of Offline, (formerly GAMIS) a specialist arts organisation dedicated to the production and exhibition of artists’ moving image.
I’ve worked with organisations such as Tate, Take Me Somewhere, Forest Fringe, the Live Art Development Agency, Royal Conservatoire Scotland, The Space and with artists such as Graeme Miller, and Forster and Heighes.
My work has been commissioned by amongst others - the Human Rights Consortium, the Law Society, Liberty, The Traveller Movement, The English Collective of Prostitutes, Strathclyde University and Belfast Queen’s University. My films have been screened at festivals including the New York Animation Festival, and British Animation Film Festival.
I have a PhD in how the documentation of live art might include the memories of audiences, and collaborative practice is a key component in much of my work.
I have presented papers and delivered keynotes at a range of international conferences and am published as a journalist and in academic collections, poetry publications and my texts feature as short stories, plays and performances. I am working on my first novel.
